Voyage à Saint-Petersbourg en Russie/ Trip to Saint-Petersburg in Russia

Salut tout le monde, je suis de retour de Russie. Je suis partie avec l’association de mon université ESN Lappeenranta. C’était un voyage organisé avec une agence de voyage, c’était vraiment super. Puis, je ne vais pas vous cacher que je me suis sentie plus en sécurité grâce à eux. J’ai bénéficié d’un visa gratuit car nous sommes partis sur le sol russe seulement trois jours.

J-1 : Nous sommes partis le 3 Avril de Lappeenranta pour aller prendre le ferry à Helsinki. Le trajet en ferry a été super long : 15h de voyage. On est parti à 18h, on est arrivé le matin du 4 avril à 9H30. C’est à partir de ce moment-là que l’enfer a commencé. On a dû descendre du bateau pour aller se faire contrôler à la frontière. On a fait 4h de queue parce que les Russes ne rigolent pas à ce niveau-là. Trop chiant. Donc on est enfin arrivé dans notre bus, on est de 4 universités différentes. On a commencé à faire le tour de la ville avec le guide, mais on a pas pu vraiment apprécier car le temps était horrible (pluie-neige) puis on était vraiment fatigué. Après on est arrivé à l’hôtel IBIS dans le centre-ville, il était vraiment super.

J-2 : Le matin nous sommes allés visiter le musée Hermitage, juste magnifique. Il a plus de 1000 pièces. Si on s’arrête 1 min devant chaque objet, il nous faudrait 6 ans pour faire le tour en entier. Le guide nous a fait une super visite, avec plein d’anecdotes intéressantes. Une fois le tour fini, on a continué à le visiter par nous-même, puis on a acheté quelques souvenirs. L’après-midi, on a fait le tour des cathédrales : la plus impressionnante « Cathédrale Saint Sauveur sur le sang-versé», la cathédrale a été construite à l’endroit exact où l’empereur Alexandre II a été assassiné. Cette cathédrale est celle avec les dômes colorés. Ensuite, nous sommes allés voir la cathédrale Saint Isaac. Une très belle cathédrale dans laquelle on peut découvrir l’histoire de sa construction. La dernière cathédrale que l’on a visitée était une église active, la cathédrale Saint Nicolau. C’est pourquoi, je n’ai pas pu prendre des photos à l’intérieur. Mais grâce à cette église, on a pu voir les rites religieux russes et c’était très émouvant et intéressant.

J-3 : Le dernier jour, nous sommes allés voir le palais de Catherine, épouse de l’empereur Pierre Ier le Grand. Ce palais était leur résidence d’été à l’occasion de grandes fêtes. Malheureusement, il a été presque entièrement brûlé par les nazis. Donc beaucoup de pièces ont été rénovés mais dans un style différent de l’époque, ce qui dénote beaucoup. Ce palais m’a fait penser au Petit Trianon à Versailles en France. J’ai été un peu déçue par cette visite. En revanche le parc de plusieurs hectares est vraiment magnifique. Il doit l’être encore plus l’été avec toutes les fleurs. Nous avons quitté le palais vers 14h. Le bateau du retour est parti à 19h, et on est arrivé le matin à 8h à Helsinki.

C’était vraiment un très beau séjour, la ville est magnifique. Cela m’a donné envie de visiter Moscou. J’espère que ce ne sera pas mon dernier récit de voyage car j’aimerais vraiment pouvoir aller à Tallin avant de rentrer en France fin mai.

Hi everyone, I'm back from Russia. I went with the association of my university ESN Lappeenranta. It was a package through a travel agency, it was really great. Then I will not hide that I felt safer with them. I received a free visa as we left on Russian soil only three days.

D-1: We started on April 3 Lappeenranta to catch the ferry to Helsinki. The ferry ride was super long: 15h travel. We started to 18h, we arrived on the morning of April 4 at 9:30. It is from this point that hell began. We had to get off the boat to be controlled at the border. We waited for 4 hours because the Russians do not laugh at this level. Too boring. So we finally arrived at our bus, it is 4 different universities. We started to drive around the city with the guide, but we could not really enjoy because the weather was terrible (rain-snow) and we were really tired. After we arrived at the Ibis hotel in the city center, it was really great.

D-2: In the morning we went to visit the Hermitage Museum, just beautiful. It has more than 1000 pieces. If you stop 1 min before each object, we would have six years to go around in full. The guide gave us a great tour with lots of interesting anecdotes. Once the final round, we continued to visit on our own and then we bought some souvenirs. In the afternoon, we toured the cathedral: the most impressive "The Church on the spilled blood", the cathedral was built in the exact spot where Emperor Alexander II was murdered. This cathedral is the one with the colorful domes. Then we went to St. Isaac's Cathedral. A beautiful cathedral in which one can discover the history of its construction. The last cathedral that was visited was an active church, the Cathedral Saint Nicolau. That's why I could not take pictures inside. But thanks to this church, we could see the Russian religious rituals and it was very moving and interesting.

D-3: The last day we went to the palace of Catherine, wife of Emperor Peter I the Great. This palace was their summer residence during major holidays. Unfortunately, it was almost completely burned by the Nazis. So many rooms have been renovated but in a different style of the time. This palace reminded me of the Petit Trianon at Versailles in France. I was a little disappointed by this visit. In contrast, the several acres park is really beautiful. It must be even more in the summer with all the flowers. We left the palace to 14h. The boat went back to 19h, and arrived in the morning at 8 am in Helsinki.

It was really a very nice stay, the city is beautiful. This made me want to visit Moscow. I hope this will not be my last travel story because I would really like to go to Tallinn before returning to France in late May.
